The Original Stoic
I recently posted about change being the only constant in life.
I’ve been saying this for years – long before ever learning that this is an actual quote by a famous philosopher, named Heraclitus, who predated and influenced both Plato and Socrates.
I decided to do a little research on this philosopher whose name I cannot say with a straight face (yes, I am really that immature.)
I discovered that some of the central tenets of stoicism are derived from the thought of Heraclitus who insisted that ever-present change is the fundamental essence of the universe.
Turns out I’ve been a Stoic before I ever knew what stoicism was.
Funny how you find things in life.
Even funnier how things in life eventually find you.
