Bueller. Bueller. Bueller.
I couldn’t wait to become a mom. From the moment I did, I looked forward to the time when my kids would be old enough to watch 80’s movies with me.
I guess I always envisioned it as a way for me to share parts of my childhood with them.
The other night I introduced my 12 year old to Ferris Bueller.
Watching “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” as a mom is a totally different experience than seeing it as a teenager. As a mom, you have to sit through questions like:
“Mom, what you do if I skipped school?”
“If you were able to orchestrate such an elaborate field trip without getting caught, then you would deserve the day off and then some.”“First of all, you would never be able to pull it off without me finding out. And then you would be in big trouble.”
In other news, I am playing hooky from work today in order to embark on a family excursion. I am doing so because I was reminded that “life moves pretty fast, and if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller.
